A friend of mine, Adrien, had a gig setting up a Brazilian – Chinese art exhibition nearby 798 art district.
I was meant to go and visit it with a friend, but problem was, friends work and the art exhibition closes at 5pm, so I went by myself.
Here’s some pictures. (with some explanations). Click on the pictures to enlarge.
- No idea what this was, but it seemed to take a lot of time to set up. What would you think if you just saw this in the woods without any explanation?
- A hallway of colour
- Colourful threads
- I once saw a piece by an artist who just constructs sculptures and then places them in obscure locations, eg. middle of the jungle without explanation, just to incite wonder & intrigue of what it could be there for. Very interesting concept & I really like the thinking
- I don’t know what’s going on, but I kind of like it
- Very colourful, looks like a sunset
- Mixed styles, designs segmented to form 1 picture, a house as if seen from different periods throughout time. Imagine black & white photo, aged pictures, overgrown gardens etc.
- A closer look of the different styles
- This doesn’t look like much, just a simple cube, but the process of it took a solid 15 days with 3 people working on it each day. needing to get the right colour shades for everything. Adrien was still working on this when i arrived. A timelaps video of the process would make it very interesting in my opinion.
- A 23 minute video about a strange relationship with a fish. Kind of absurd. Man catches fish, then strokes it lovingly for 5-6 mins. Very strange
- Amazing space to hold the exhibition
