So the awesome series Off to Be the Wizard is coming out with its 5th book, which sounds great. (7 hrs and 33 mins)
I listened to the entire series once over again and started making a wiki of it…. as I noticed that there’s not one already online. And I’d like to have something I can reference when I’m listening to the new one.
Also, Super Powereds Year 4 audio book is coming out… which of course I have pre-ordered.
Basically this just means that as soon as it comes out, it’ll be available to me. As a digital copy, it’s not like they can run out.. but I don’t have to remember to get it later.
This is the last book in the series, although there may be another spin-off book of Corpies.
Honestly, these books were so great, and the narrator for all the different voices were done so well, that you really want to just listen to the whole thing without interruption.
Drew Hayes, the author, actually wrote the series as a web serial, meaning that it was available for free written each week… but I’m happy to wait and pay for the audiobook version because its just that much better to consume it all at once.
In the meantime, I’ve just finished Origins of a D-List Super-villain which was pretty good. I was intrigued with the question… ‘why D-list?’ and there’s apparently 3 more books in that series, and they’re only 5 hours long each… which is nice.
Also a book that a good friend from China got me onto, The Psychopath Test by Jon Ronson. (The same guy that wrote <The Men Who Stare At Goats> & The Butterfly Effect) This book get’s off to a slow start, but is captivating, and quite enjoyable to see this guy’s progress as he interviews many people who display certain psychopathic tendencies. Fascinating. And great recommendation.
At 7 hours 33 mins long, I would definitely recommend this.
The Super Powereds book is hinted to be around 43 hours long. However its pure enjoyment. It’s kind of like the same sensation that people got from reading the Harry Potter books, you just wouldn’t want to put them down. It’s like that.
So really looking forward to this book.
But it means the next week or so… I probably won’t be that productive.
